Tom
Sizemore has been making films, DVD and TV projects non-stop despite his recent
personal problems and can be a compelling screen presence. One of his last before becoming temporarily
out of acting action is writer/director Randy Daudlin’s silly Bottom Feeder – Unrated. Another bad monster film with slasher
graphics, this one has maroon-colored blood all over it and kills everything in
its way. Apparently, a good script was
one of its casualties.
Sizemore
dos maintenance for the city, but gets more than he bargained for when the
almost supernatural killer comes out of nowhere and is heading for the
surface. This is complicated by innocent
victims and some armed schemers, but they are all boring that it leaves you
rooting for the creature almost. This
joyless throw-together has zero imagination, humor and the makeup is also
lame. By the end, which is dumb,
everyone has hit rock bottom.
The anamorphically
enhanced 1.78 X 1 image is limited, looks shot digitally and has detail and
color issues throughout. Depth is also
limited. The Dolby Digital 5.1 has
limited surrounds and is not very full, plus dialogue can be an issue
often. Besides trailers for other Genius
product, there is a making of featurette that is about as exciting as this dud.
