Adrenalin Crew 2 – Awaiting Trial

When we
read about a group of guys doing motorcycle stunts so illegal and crazy that
they were dangerous and in trouble with the law, we thought this might be an interesting
release, but Adrenalin Crew 2 – Awaiting
Trial is much more about being loud, gross, remarkably stupid off the road
and despite the admittedly very “stacked” (professional critical opinion) and
sexy women around, this is not the wild bike stunt piece we had expected.
Maybe in
the 1970s when they would have had the high mix of boldness, energy, knowing
what to do with both these women and their bikes, this could have really been a
cutting-edge piece that we could enjoy and recommend. As it stands, there is no one director, no
focus, wasted opportunities throughout and though the bike stunts included are
solid, this is more Jackass than
Evil Knievel. Too bad, because these
guys have talent and there is maybe even a documentary film here. Maybe they’ll get their act together for
that, if we ever hear from them again.
The 1.33
X 1 image was shot in various low-definition digital formats and is as rough
looking as it is roughly edited. That is
the nature of programs like this one, so the intended audience will likely not
care. The Dolby Digital 2.0 sound is
harsh, sometimes stereo (give or take the stereo Rock songs) and one should
exercise caution in turning up the sound too much, and not because “it rocks”
or anything but because the sound is strident and denatured. BE WARNED that the menus are even worse; a
problem with the mastering.
Extras
include a dud spoof of MTV’s Pimp My
Ride (reviewed elsewhere on this site), media footage, two music videos,
band credits, clip of a wreck, clip of an arrest, director’s commentary and
previews for four other titles.
