Kind Of Blue & Pink – Jon Crosse (Jazz CD)

As
anxiety for the future of couple’s children increases, the market for Classical
and Jazz materials to play for infants in the hopes it will make them smarter
or give them a head start also continues.
Kind Of Blue & Pink by
Jon Crosse has guests like Carmen McRae, Clare Fischer, Freddie Hubbard and
Luis Conte, but the vocal numbers seem out of place and how exciting can London Bridge, Rain Rain Go Away and Rock-a-bye
Baby get? Though it is a somewhat
ambitious effort, I was disappointed overall with the potential not being met
in part by Crosse simply thinking soft covers were sufficient without going
anywhere else with them. Nice try
through.
The PCM
16bit/44.1kHz Stereo is purposely muted as if to be quite for infants, but that
is bad whether it is a stylistic choice or just bad production. This trend of music for infants has become
silly, and if you want Jazz will less fidelity, play early Billie Holiday, Ella
Fitzgerald or Louis Armstrong. This one
is only for the most curious.
