Asphalt Wars

In the
1960s and 1970s, Roger Corman was capable of amusing, entertaining films on a
low budget, especially with cars.
However, he has become a very bored producer and Asphalt Wars with its Latino cast is terrible and one of his lamest
cash-ins yet. It wants to be Fast & Furious and actually manages
to be worse than the John Singleton sequel; a major achievement in
garbage. To make car racing boring is
something, but writer/director Henry Crum does just this and the result is this
turkey.
The 1.33
X 1 image is awful and adds to what a mess this is. The Dolby Digital 5.1 mix is really a badly
processed simple stereo track with all kinds of limits and other problems. There are no extras and how could there be,
this release gives the term “basic DVD” a bad name.
