Convent Of Sinners

How about a film where after a young virgin girl is raped
by her father, she gets sent to a convent where she keeps getting exploited and
raped when not having lesbian sex (though police lesbianism in this case) and
maybe wondering about a few young priests who look like they left the
Chippendales. Yes, it is Joe D’Amato’s Convent
Of Sinners, an amazingly stupid, pathetic, dumb, idiotic, lame, film
supposedly based on some book from 1670 and filmed in 1986.
Not making any kind of statement against Neo-Conservatism
or any other ideology accept the right to make sleazy, stupid films, this is
the kind of garbage that now gets relegated to digital video production where
less people are likely to see it. The
cast of unknowns cannot act in any language and the sex/guilty formula is
obnoxious. A few women get whipped in
the film, but the true victim is the audience watching this waste of time. Too bad they did not turn on D’Amato during
production.
The anamorphically enhanced 1.66 X 1 image is on the weak
side, though there are good moments of color, definition does not fare so
well. The Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono in
either English or Italian are also weak, with a weak score and phony sound effects. Extras include D’Amato trailers (about a
dozen of them) and a behind the scenes featurette of another one of this
films. I wonder if they can be as
pointless.
