Panoramic – Rhythm
Through The Unobstructed View (CD)
Sound: B-
Music: B
I give the Jazz band Panoramic credit. They have come out with an album that shows
their love of music and mixing and highlighting all kinds of great instruments
and that they play them so well is a plus.
The eight tracks on Rhythm Through The Unobstructed View is
masterful, fun, loaded with energy and a real love of music. In follow-up listenings, a nice foldout from
the CD talks more specifically about each track, but you should not read that
until you hear the album at least once on its own. The six-man outfit is a breath of fresh air in Jazz and those who
love music in general (including DJ-ing, Dance & Rock) should also give it
a listen.
The PCM 16bit/44.1kHz 2.0 Stereo is a disappointment
considering how good this album is. It
is rough, limited and has a “traded-down” sound that makes it fell almost
second generation. Was this mixed on a
computer? That is not always a good
idea. Anyhow, the material is worth
your time.
