Drummer/vocalist George Johnson, Jr. gets to enjoy and participate in a tribute to his work in the new concert All Star Tribute for George Johnson, Jr. CD from BCS Records.  Many fine jazz musicians, including Wynton Marsalis, join in on the following tracks:

The performances are very good, but not always consistent.  Though there was joy in the proceedings and project, but it never takes off to the extent this critic had hoped for.  The PCM 16bit/44.1kHz 2.0 Stereo is one of the reasons, which has some rough sonics and moments that are even more shockingly so.  It cuts into the works of the musicians and that is not good.  Maybe an SACD would do a better job of capturing what really happened, because this CD falls short.
