Satellite – Evening
Dreams (DVD-Video Concert)
Picture: C+

Yet another band goes to DVD with a concert and this time,
it is Satellite, an obscure band that sounds like a later generation Emerson,
Lake & Palmer without the totals technical prowess or originality. That does not mean the roughly 90 minutes is
bad, just a lighter version of more memorable work. To give you an idea of the throwback to concept albums and
Progressive Rock (now called Prog Rock by those who hate it) this bad aspires
to be, look at these titles:
1) Never
Never
2) Evening
Games
3) Fight
4) Evening
Wind
5) Beautiful
World
6) Evening
Overture
7) Children
8) A Street
Between Sunrise & Sunset
9) Evening

Where’s The Alan Parsons Project when you need them most? Only check in if you really like this kind
of music. The anamorphically enhanced
1.78 X 1 image is softer than expected and the color is slightly off as well
throughout. The Dolby Digital 5.1 mix
has some surrounds, but is nothing extraordinary. Extras include weblinks, stills, text biography & discography
and interview with the band members.
Not bad, but nothing to get too excited about.
