Silk Stalkings – The Complete Fourth Season was really pushing it for the hit Stephen J. Cannell show, now well into syndication, leaving the Palm Beach, Florida of homicide detectives Rita Lance (Mitzi Kapture) and Chris Lorenzo (Rob Estes) with the same old things to do.  Suddenly, the idea that they were protecting the rich elite and sexual elite was tired and the sex and violence no longer shocking, as the show had finally reached a sad point of self-satire.

 

To get this out of the way, the 22 shows here are as follows, including notable guest stars, with John Byner and Mitzi McCall still surfacing often:

At this point, the budgets had really leveled off, so the sense of boredom was competing with a look that did not look like much money was on the screen.  That extends to the full frame 1.33 X 1 image, which has more detail limits than ever, with a fuzziness and color trouble that is surprising.  The Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo this time has NO Pro Logic surrounds, as it was the season before last.  Again, three are absolutely no extras, but the (four) DVDs again come in (two) slendercases.  Stick with the earlier seasons, reviewed elsewhere on this site.
