Love After Death (Telefilm)

Charles Matthau had the chance to direct his legendary
father Walter Matthau in the 1998 telefilm Love After Death, but it
sadly does not have enough of either “dad” or Carol Burnett in it. Instead, the film offers too many stupid
moments with John Stamos, coasting and cashing in on his fame in bad TV
sitcoms. The teleplay is as juvenile and
what must have at least very silly then seems really bad now, but here is a DVD
of the 90 minutes just the same.
Not that this critic is out to bash Stamos, especially
when so many animated shows already have, but this kind of fluff is why no one
ever took him seriously. Well, it’s a
living, but you don’t have to loose and hour and a half of your life over it,
even with Teri Polo. The 1.33 X 1 full
frame image is soft and has micro digititis throughout, while the Dolby Digital
2.0 Stereo has healthy Pro Logic surrounds.
It is an awkward combination, but HD could not save the film, so the
only extra of text on the cast is pointless.
Skip this one.
