Mahalia Jackson is considered one of the great voices of American music and Passport has compiled the following Gospel songs from her TV show Mahalia Jackson Sings:

This runs under forty minutes, but even an atheist can tell why her vocal interpretations are considered some of the most powerful, deep and empathetic in recorded Gospel history.  The 1.33 X 1 monochrome image and Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono sound may not be the best, but very little is available visually of the legend and this DVD helps to correct that.  There are no extras, but fans of the genre and Mahalia will be pleased enough.
