Hitting
its stride as the best of the regal/royal dramatic series, The
Crown: Season Four
(2020) starts off in the very end of the 1970s as Margaret Thatcher
(another stunning performance by Gillian Anderson) and Lady Diana
Spencer marries Prince Charles. Both will turn out to be twin
disasters for all involved and shows the series never holds back on
anything. For those who missed the previous seasons, our Blu-ray
coverage as follows:

Now
they are in territory more familiar and as inevitably shocking and
scandalous as any. To say anything else would ruin any surprises
they managed to come up with, but everyone is raving about this
season and this time, the hype is accurate.
The
1080p 2.00 X 1 digital High Definition image retains the sometimes
subtly dark style of the previous seasons and looks fine for what is
intended, while the DTS-HD MA (Master Audio) 5.1 lossless mix sounds
good and as strong and professional as the previous season. Dialogue
is always clear and sound editing better than it might first seem.
Extras
include a Photo Gallery and three behind-the-scenes featurettes:
Triumph
& Tragedy: Charles & Diana,
Three
Groundbreaking Women
and Research,
Costumes & More: The Making of Season 4.

Gangs
Of London: Season One
(2020)
that gets a nice Blu-ray release courtesy of AMC and RLJ. There have
been a lot of films and series on gangs in London and movies like The
Krays,
all of which were definitely inspiration for this more modern take on
the formula, but doesn't feel like it brings too anything
groundbreaking to the genre.
A
powerful criminal is found dead and now all of the crime families in
London start piecing together the murder and an intense power
struggle begins. While the show is pretty violent its not as bad as
something you would see on HBO as AMC was the original station the
series was broadcasted on.
The
series stars Joe Cole, Sope Dirisu, Lucian Msamati, Paapa Essiedu,
Michelle Fairley, and Brian Vernel.
Gangs
of London
is presented in 1080p high definition on Blu-ray disc with an MPEG-4
AVC codec, a widescreen aspect ratio of 2.00:1 and an English DTS-HD
MA (Master Audio) 5.1 (48kHz, 16-bit) mix, both of which are up to a
high standard for the Blu-ray format. The show has high production
value and a very cinematic look. There are ten episodes in Season
One.

Shaun
Murphy is a savant doctor with autism serving at St. Bonaventure
Hospital in the surgical department. As both he and the hospital
face new challenges in the coming year include COVID 19, new
residents and parenthood, Shaun will be challenged no only is saving
lives, but to lead and teach the new recruits on how to be a good
doctor. But as time goes on, stress takes it's toll and soon the
hospital, it's patients and it doctors reach the breaking point in
The
Good Doctor: Season Four
(2020).
Dr.
Murphy is considered one of the best surgeons at St. Bonaventure
despite having autism. He is tolerated and accept and supported by
his peers and other doctors at the hospital for his ability remember,
diagnose problems and his attention to focus on minute details in
which helps save lives. However, while a he is a genius on the
operating table, he has a child's social level in his interactions
with people, he is brutally honest and unable to have empathy or have
normal conversations or relationships with others, also he has a god
complex and problem with anyone who questions what he says, he
considers himself always right (and others are always wrong) and
others must always listen to what he says. His current love
interest/girl friend is the hospital's head of IT, Lea who accept him
because she has a troubled past and she rather have someone simpler
in her life and she is tired of men lying to her, she gets pregnant
with Shaun's baby.
This
was another medical drama series in which the main twist was the main
character/doctor has a social disorder, he is only allowed to be a
doctor because of his abilities and because of the hospital's policy
of no discriminations. The series faces the usual medical
dramas/challenges with the patients and various medical emergencies
as well as doctor's personal romantic relationships behind closed
doors. Extras include deleted scenes, blooper and a Farewell to
Antonia Thomas.

While
it isn't advertised very widely as such, The
Nevers
(2021), the HBO supernatural series is directed by Joss Whedon.
Under fire still with genre fans over the whole Justice
League
fiasco, Whedon brings us The
Nevers,
which is a kind of X-Men-like story with humans with special powers
only pit up against the backdrop of Victorian London. The show feels
uninspired and a bore despite some interesting visuals and feels
pretty generic despite it being on HBO.
The
Nevers: Season One, Part One
(2021)
features an ensemble cast that includes Laura Donnelly, Ann Skelly,
Olivia Williams, James Norton, Tom Riley, Rochelle Neil, Eleanor
Tomlinson, Amy Manson, Pip Torrens, Denis O'Hare, Zackary Momoh,
Elizabeth Berrington, Kiran Sonia Sawar, Anna Devlin, Viola
Prettejohn, Ella Smith, Nick Frost and Ben Chaplin.
A

puts them in danger audits up a widow and an inventor to help face
those who wish to lock them up.
The

Joe
(Penn Badgley) was a book seller from New York, until he had to
runaway to Los Angeles to start over a new life after he killed his
girlfriend and his (another) former ex-girlfriend comes chasing after
him, swearing she will have her revenge. Now Joe lives in Los
Angeles as 'Will' and he meets and falls for a new girl named 'Love',
but can he hide from his past much less learn from them? In order to
protect his new life from the old one, he will do whatever is
necessary to protect himself and use his unique skills to protect the
people he cares about in You:
Season Two
(2019).
Joe
had to reinvent himself after running away from New York, and he
meets a new girl named 'Love', but he discovers she needs his
protection from her addict socialite brother and his underaged
neighbor from Henderson, a celebrity but is secretly a pedophile.
Top it off, his ex-girlfriend comes hunting him down and is now known
as 'Amy'. As 'Will' plays cat and mouse with 'Amy' can he keep his
new life and from Love discovering his old one?
If
you like murder and the macabre you would like this series, the
series is very similar to the series Dexter
in where the main character finds himself justifying himself to kill.
In a world filled with injustice, and where the law is either too
lazy or corrupt, you come to understand the reasons of how the main
character is the 'hero' of the show (but in real life he would be
viewed as a serial killer). In the end, the audience has to decide
for themselves ARE there conditions when people should be justified
to kill and if the main protagonist is a hero or a murder?
The
anamorphically enhanced
1.78 X 1 image looks and lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 sounds as good as
the show possibly could in this older format, but it plays fine
enough. There are no extras, but you can read more about the first
season of the show at this link:
