Doctor
Jean-Pierre (Francois Cluzet) is a country doctor, has terminal brain
cancer and is dying. He is paired up with Doctor Nathalie (Marianne
Denicourt) to train her as his replacement. As Jean-Pierre shows
Nathalie the the ropes of being a doctor they clashed mighty, but
when Jean-Pierre's condition gets worse will Nathalie be able to help
and fill his shoes?
In
Thomas Lilti's Country Doctor
(2016 aka Irreplaceable),
Jean-Pierre is a small time country doctor, but when he
realize he is dying, he finds himself suddenly with a partner,
Nathalie. When Nathalie comes to work with Jean-Pierre she does not
know about Jean-Pierre's condition. Jean-Pierre teaches Nathalie
that being a doctor isn't all about policy, medicine and treatment.
Nathalie learns being a doctor is also about getting to know your
patients, helping people living their lives better. Nathalie thought
the man who was to be her partner, is really training her to take his
place when he gone.
This
was a typical slice of life movie. It was about when people face
with their own mortality they look back over their live and wondered
if they really lived. How people should value their time and
relationships when they still have it. When people work their jobs,
are they just doing her jobs or is it something more?
The
anamorphically
enhanced 1.78 X 1 image and lossy Dolby Digital sound are once again
passable in an Icarus DVD release, a bit lite alone and in
combination, though we again expect a Blu-ray would play better.
Extras only include trailers.
