RWBY:
Volume 4 (2016/Flatiron Films/Rooster Teeth/Cinedigm Blu-ray
w/DVD)
Picture:

Ever
since the fall of Beacon Academy, Grimm has taken over the land and
the forces of evil are growing stronger begun searching for the power
of the 4 Maidens. Governments and organizations are all too busy
blaming each other, scrambling for political positions and the
hunters and huntresses are scattered to the wind. Meanwhile, Team
RWBY has been shattered and broken, each one of the girls must face
their own demons in RWBY:
Volume 4
(2016).
The
forces of evil have destroyed Beacon Academy and the Director is
missing. Team RWBY has been separated. Ruby has joined another team
fight the ever increase Grimm throughout the land. Weiss has moved
back home, only to be trapped and used by her father as a political
pawn for her family business. Blake has returned to her homeland,
only to discover the White Fang Extremists has already taken over her
home. Yin faces her own wounds and PTSD. Now, they must follow and
search for the legendary power of the 4 Maidens to stop those forces
of evil.
It
is good to see a new chapter RWBY,
you can always tell with the increase CGI quality is a good sign more
people are watching. It is a fantasy filled adventure world with
young heroes and heroines fighting evil. They discover a legendary
power and it is a race between good and evil that could change the
fate of their world, but this works well.
Once
again, the 1080p 1.78 X 1 digital High Definition image is a solid,
consistent performer, joining Volume
3 as
the best in the series so far, leaving the anamorphically enhanced
DVD passable at best. Both offer lossy English Dolby Digital 5.1
mixes which shows this is well mixed and recorded, but yet again, the
Blu-ray should have had a lossless option, especially since surrounds
are good here. Extras include behind the scenes featurettes, audio
commentaries and trailers.
