Kill
'Em All

Action
star Jean Claude Van Damme stars in Kill
'Em All
(2017), a slickly made shoot-em-up that centers around a wounded Van
Damme, who winds ends up in an emergency room after a shootout.
Inevitably, it doesn't take long until other assassins come poking
around looking for him and he soon ends up putting doctors, nurses,
and patients in harm's way. His nurse, the sole surviving witness to
the hospital shootout, must face an FBI interrogation that unlocks a
plot of international intrigue and revenge from both sides.
Kill
'Em All
also stars Autumn Reeser (Sully),
Maria Conchita Alonso, Kiss Van Damme, James P. Bennett, and Peter
Stormare (Fargo).
The
film has some solid editing and nice cinematography, and is
admittedly a bit more fun than I originally expected it to be. While
not up to the same standards as a John Wick film, this is far better
than the Clive Owen vehicle Shoot
'Em Up
(2007), though not nearly as hammy. Sometimes taking itself a bit
too seriously, there's still plenty of blood and violence to satisfy
most action fans.
Presented
in 1080p high definition with a widescreen aspect ratio of 2.40:1
and a great sounding DTS-HD MA (Master Audio) lossless 5.1 track, the
film looks and sounds pretty great on disc with strong details on
characters. Some exterior scenes have a muted yellow tone, while
many of the interior shots are naturally toned and not as stylized.
If
you're into Van Damme movies and like shoot-out style flicks, this is
not the worst film I've ever seen in the genre despite how bad the
cover art on the disc may be.
No
extras.
