Arnold
Schwarzenegger proves his range as a dramatic actor in the new film
Aftermath
(2017), where he plays a grief stricken man who is facing the
unfortunate death of his pregnant wife and daughter, due to an
airplane crash. When he finds out that the Air Traffic Controller
(Scott McNairy who had a small role in last year's Batman
V Superman)
was responsible for the incident, Arnold decides to face the man
himself who was responsible for his great loss.
The
film is interestingly shot and has strong direction by Elliot Lester
(Frank
& Lola),
Arnold is definitely trying something new with his career as of late.
Last year, he was in the horror/drama Maggie,
which also took him out of his usual 'action star' element and this
film is no different. While I probably wouldn't visit this film
again anytime soon, for a drama, it is effective.
The
film also stars Maggie Grace (Taken), Kevin Zegers, Hannah
Ware, and Glenn Morshower.
Presented
in 1080p high definition with a widescreen aspect ratio of 2.40:1 and
a nice sounding DTS-HD MA (Master Audio) 5.1 lossless track, the
presentation is up to standards with nice detail on the characters
and clean colors that compliment the cinematography. A digital UV
copy is also included for your digital library.
Special
Features include...
Audio
Commentary with Director Elliott Lester and Producer Eric Watson
Interviews
with Director Elliott Lester and Director of Photography Pieter
Vermeer
Aftermath
is an effective as a cinematic drama that could (and I'm sure has)
happened to some unfortunate families today. It raises some
interesting questions and is a nice addition to Arnold's more diverse
resume as of late.
