All
Bodi wanted to do was play Rock 'N Roll music. Bodi, a mountain
sheepdog, sets off on his dream to the big city to meet his hero,
Angus Scattergood, the rock legend who inspired him (who is like a
cross between Ozzy Osbourne and Andy Warhol) to see if he would be
his mentor, but it's a big world out there and Bodi has lots to
learn. When Bodi's home village is threaten by the wolf gang can
Bodi find his voice, the fire from within to save his village?
In
Rock Dog (2016), we find Bodi the Sheepdog, born and raised on
Snow Mountain, facing his father who always expected him to walk in
his footsteps to become the next guardian of the mountain. However,
Bodi doesn't want to the guardian, he wants to play his guitar! So
he sets off the the city to meet Angus Scattergood, only to find that
Angus is in a slump and decides to use Bodi as his muse and uses him
for his inspiration. When Bodi discovers his home is under attack
from the wolves, he must use the fire within to help save his
village.
This
was your typical boy leaves village seeking his fame and fortune in
the big city. Along the way, he makes friends and enemies and become
a hero to save the day. It is about following your dreams and about
never giving up, done very well here. Nice this was so fun.
The
1080p 1.78:1 high definition image and fine-sounding DTS-HD MA
(Master Audio) 5.1 lossless track present the CGI feature as well as
the format can, so much so that we expect this to be a 4K Ultra HD
Blu-ray candidate at some point. The anamorphically enhanced DVD
with lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 sound is OK, but not great and no match
for the Blu-ray, induced here for convenience. Extras include The
Making of Rock Dog, Casting the Voices, Animating Rock
Dog, Explore the Music and the 'Glorious' Music Video.
