A Cowgirl's Story (2016/Sony DVD)

Picture: B Sound: C+ Extras: D Film: C+

Dusty is a young girl and cowgirl who finds herself in a new town and new school after both her parents have gone off to war. As she learns how to make new friends and adjust to her school life, she starts a girl's equestrian drill team to support their dreams and their family members who serve overseas in A Cowgirl's Story (2016).

Dusty lives in a town made up of families who have serve and still served in the military. At first, she is an outsider, but she there are other girls who are like her who have lost family members in the military. Dusty creates that equestrian team to show spirit and support to honor their families and to show the are proud military daughters, but when her own family becomes MIA, Dusty own faith is tested. The team must pull together to show they are all family and no lost or sacrifice is vain when there is a higher cause.

This was totally a chick flick about girls and their horses and being a 'good' military daughter as well. It is all about fitting in and having having pride in families who serve in the military, that there is nothing wrong with families who are forced to separate in the service. In the end, regardless of lost family or not, faith in God and the military will be rewarded. The cast of unknowns are good enough here.

The anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 image looks better than expected, but the lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 mix is soft and inconsistent. There are no extras.
