Steven
Seagal comes out with yet another new film, as there have been quite
a few as of late, in fact seven in the past year (some reviewed
elsewhere on this site such as End
of a Gun and
Sniper: Special
Ops). This one
is Contract To
Kill, that won't
necessarily blow you away in terms of story but isn't without some
impressive action sequences and plenty of one liners to keep any
action movie fan amused. Once again, Seagal must come out of
retirement to stop some extreme terrorist bad guys - when will they
ever learn? The film also stars Russell Wong, Jemma Dallender,
Sergiu Costache, and Ghassan Bouz.
Harmon
(Seagal) is a fast talking and quick to kill CIA/DEA enforcer
investigating Arab terrorists captured in Mexico. With his
team--seductive FBI agent Zara and spy-drone pilot Sharp--he flies to
Istanbul and uncovers a brutal plot that only he can prevent!
Islamic extremists plan to use Sonora drug-smuggling routes to bring
deadly weapons, and leaders, into the U.S. to prevent an attack on
America, Harmon has to put all of skills to the ultimate test.
Presented
in 1080p high definition with a widescreen aspect ratio of 2.39:1 and
fantastic sounding, lossless DTS-HD MA (Master Audio) 5.1 track, the
film looks and sounds fine on the Blu-ray format with surprisingly
good cinematography by Liviu Pojoni Jr. that some of the producers
from the Expendables
franchise should take note of. A digital copy is also included.
Special
Features include The
Making of Contract to Kill
& a Trailer Gallery.
Typical
Seagal fair and nothing more, Contract to Kill will entertain some
and bore others. It does make one wonder though, why isn't Seagal in
the Expendables
movies? Same studio.
