Billy
(Brian Ho) is an enforcer within the Triad, but really he is an
undercover cop. In order to prove himself to his 'boss' (et al), he
destroys anything and anyone his boss needs, but when an innocent
girl's life is at risk, he decides to protect her... risking blowing
his cover and his mission in Bruce Fontaine's Beyond Redemption
(2015).
The
Vancouver Triad gangs are out of control and are fighting each other
in a power struggle. Billy work as undercover cop to destroy them
from within is working, yet is still forced to prove his loyalty by
executing rival gang members. While killing bad guys isn't too much
stretch for his morals, it's a different story when that girl's life
is at risk. When his gang decide to take on the Dragonhead, the
biggest Triad gang it becomes an all-out war. Can he cut through all
this with the least amount of innocent carnage?
Can
you really call a movie a Chinese movie if the characters don't speak
Chinese? This movie felt like they were trying to make martial art
action film, but it seem more like a gangster wannabe story, aside
from the Asian looking cast there was no other Asian culture, so that
spilled over into how it played for me. Nickolas Baric, Raymond
Chan, Peter Chao, Eddy Ko and Josette Jorge also star.
The
1080p digital High Definition image transfer is a competent HD shoot,
but nothing spectacular, yet the
DTS-HD MA (Master Audio) 5.1 lossless mix runs into limits and
problems that include a few location audio issues and an awkward feel
throughout. Extras
include behind the scenes fighting and trailers.
