Amnesia
(2015/Jackie Chan Presents/Lionsgate DVD)

A
bike courier, Li Zwei, finds himself framed for murder and with
facial amnesia, the only clue he has was the package he was
delivering. Joined by a spunky female hitchhiker Tong Xin, Li must
not only give her a ride, deliver the package, solve the murder case
and clear his name in Yinxi Song's Amnesia (2015).
Li
Zwei is actually an ordinary biker courier, that was until he stepped
into a murder scene and he realized his package contained the
critical information that two assassins wanted. After barely
escaping and being injured he ends up with a facial amnesia, he could
no long recognize people's faces. He (unwillingly) picks up a
hitchhiker Tong Xin and together they end up going on a cross country
chase (with two assassins hot on their tails) in order deliver the
package. Li and Tong just wants to deliver and get rid of the
package (and each other), but when they discover a child's life is at
stake they must protect the package at all cost in order to save the
child's life.
This
was an action filled movie filled with drama and a dash of comedy.
You could really feel Jackie Chan's influence in making this movie, a
rogue with a heart of gold and a bit comical action/drama/romance
thrown into the mix. It felt like Jackie Chan was getting back to
his roots in entertainment industry, either he is looking for the
next Asian superstar or he was helping young actors and actresses
make a break into Hollywood.
The
anamorphically enhanced image is softer than one would like, but the
lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 mix is surprisingly active and effective.
Extras include trailers.
