They'll
save the universe ...but not for free. Cowboy Bebop is a group of
bounty hunters who will take any jobs as long as someone pays their
bills. After a mysterious bombing that leaves countless people in an
unexplainable coma, bio terrorists are blamed and a heavy bounty is
placed on finding and catching those responsible. As team Bebop
investigates, their only lead is a bead and the mysterious girl named
Electra... but soon they find out more than what they expect and
nothing of what they thought.
Cowboy
Bebop: The Movie (2001) is about a rag tag group of space bounty
hunters who often find themselves chasing a bounty that cost more
than it's worth and just so happen to save the day. Join Spike, Jet,
Fei, Ed and Ein as they solve a 'bio' terrorist attack on Mars. But
what they find is a (another) government conspiracy project cover up
went wrong, and as usual the crew of the Bebop find themselves
surround by bullets and cleaning up someone else's mess.
This
is a must-have release for all Cowboy Bebop fans. The movie showcases
the series and the characters as they work together to help advert
disaster. More often than not, the characters are just trying to
either pay off or runaway from their debts than saving the day, but
in the end they (usually) barely manage to get by but prove they have
a heart of gold.
The
1080p 1.75 X 1 digital High Definition image is a fine restoration
from the original 35mm elements that may be the best the film has
ever looked, while the lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 mix is the soundmaster
from the original theatrical release at its best, but why no lossless
version? Still, it'll do for now. Extras include behind the scenes
featurettes, story board to scene comparisons, art galleries and
trailers.
