Before
they became the future First Couple, take a look into how a young
Barack Obama (Parker Sawyers) met Michelle Robinson (Tika Sumpter)
his future wife in Richard Tanne's Southside With You (2016).
As they go on their first fairytale-like date, as Obama uses his
political savvy and charm to woo young attorney Michelle. Before
Obama and Michelle got married, they were already social and
political leaders in their own respective communities and worked in a
local law firm.
Michelle
was an attorney for hard luck cases in Chicago's Southside, blown
away by newcomer Obama, who used his natural talent and leadership to
inspire others. Both Michelle and Obama were both worked together to
change social inequalities, they remind each other how they must
continue to believe in the American Way and fight for change.
This
was a romantic drama retelling of how Obama met Michelle on their
first date. While the people are real, a person can't help but
wonder how much was fairy tale and what was made up by the script
writers. The movie made Obama seem like modern Abraham Lincoln story
and Michelle seem like a political activist in the civil rights
movement for racial equality and woman's rights who was more in 1960s
'radical' mode than she actually was.
The
1080p 2.35 X 1 digital High Definition image is a fine HD shoot,
taking advantage of the Chicago locales, while the DTS-HD MA (Master
Audio) 5.1 lossless sound is even better than expected with unusual
crispness and clarity. Extras include commentaries, original artwork
& animations and trailers.
