Pierce
Brosnan stars in the new thriller I.T. (2016) which is an
'invasion of privacy' type movie. Directed by A Good Day to Die
Hard helmer John Moore, the slick looking film doesn't look bad
from a production standpoint, but ultimately ends up being as silly
and predictable as all of the other films by the director (which
includes the awful Omen remake from a few years back, reviewed
elsewhere on this site). Having a very limited theatrical run, the
film finds it way on Blu-ray with a decent looking and sounding
presentation.
When
a presentation glitches, Mike Regan (Brosnan) calls in for the help
of an I.T. guy (Animal Kingdom's James Frecheville) who ends
up repairing some security software at his home. When the tables
turn and the two get into a scuffle, the Hacker uses his unique set
of skills to threaten Regan's family (including his daughter played
by Anna Friel) and his successful company and expose his secrets.
Needless to say, Regan doesn't like this too much and must call on
the help of some old ties to help get his revenge on the young man.
Presented
in 1080p high definition with a widescreen aspect ratio of 2.35:1
that looks fantastic throughout with some really nice color
correction work done here. Paired with the nice looking transfer is a
lossless DTS-HD MA (Master Audio) 5.1 track that sounds pretty
dynamic, making this presentation pretty solid overall. No digital
copy.

I
can easily see this as a film that was offered and rejected to Liam
Neeson, but all in all I.T. has plenty of computer hacker
villain fun to entertain fans of thrillers, save some pretty
predictable plot points.
