Kickboxer:
Vengeance (2016/RLJ Entertainment Blu-ray)

If
you're a fan of the original Kickboxer, then you may want to
check out the John Stockwell remake/sequel Kickboxer: Vengeance
(2016) that has an interesting cast for the most part including Dave
Bautista (SPECTRE, Guardians of the Galaxy), Alain
Moussi (Wolves), Gina Carano (Fast and Furious 6),
Darren Shahlavi (Born to Raise Hell), Georges St-Pierre (Never
Surrender), and Jean Claude Van Damme (returning from the
original film, reviewed elsewhere on this site). While there isn't
anything particularly new in terms of story, there is some
interesting cinematography and cool fight scenes that will please
modern audiences. It's not as thrilling as the first film was, but
I wasn't expecting it to be.
Kurt
Sloane (Moussi) is out for vengeance when his brother Eric (Shahlavi)
is killed in a kickboxing match with Tong Po (Bautista). With the
help of Eric's trainer (Van Damme), he whips himself into shape
despite all obstacles to face the man who killed his brother.
The
film is presented in 1080p high definition and a widescreen aspect
ratio of 2.40:1 that looks and sounds fantastic on Blu-ray disc; the
color palette is mostly yellows and dark blacks, especially in the
kick boxing fight scenes. The sound mix is equally as impressive in a
lossless DTS-HD MA (Master Audio) 5.1 mix that will fill your room
with swooshes and punches.

Typical
revenge fight story but not without its moments, Kickboxer:
Vengeance will interest those who dig the cast or the sport but
doesn't bring too much innovative storytelling to the table.
