Ice Girls (2016/Fox DVD)

Picture: B- Sound: B Extras: D Telefilm: B

After seriously injuring her knee Mattie, her sister and her mother move back to their hometown, but Mattie (Michaela du Toit) just can't seem to give up the ice or her skates, she works at an ice rink teaching kids how to skate. She is inspired to not give up by the rink's owner and her new friend/rival to skate once more, but there are problems when their mothers find out they discover she is skating again and there is some bad history between their mothers in Damian Lee's Ice Girls (2016).

Mattie was a pro figure skater, but after seriously injury her knee and her mother not having a job, they were forced to move back to her mother's hometown. They her mother finds not only a new job, but gains the attention of both an ex-boyfriend and Mattie's new coach. As Mattie goes under rehabilitation she becomes rivals with her new best friend and their mothers were/are frenemies and dead set on having them at each other's throats. But is Mattie really ready to return to the world stage again? Natasha Henstridge also stars.

This was a ice skating-filled series of events, all about girls who dream to becoming beautiful dancing princesses on the ice filled with drama, rivalry and friendship, the only thing they didn't do was turn it into another romance. I guess guys on ice isn't as exciting as girls on ice.

The anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 image is a little soft, but the lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 mix is a bit better and there are no extras.
