A
former model/actress Ginny (Lynn Lowry of Romero's original Crazies,
Cronenberg's Shivers,
Schrader's Cat
People
remake, Sugar
Cookies)
is tired of what modern society calls beauty. After being dumped for
being 'too old', she hates all woman younger than her, envying their
youth and beauty. So, she decides to take it away from them, piece
by piece, one bite at a time. As her appetite grows so does the body
count, as she lures young girls into her home, no one seems to
suspect her ...each one not knowing the evil right next door in
Debbie Rochon's Model
Hunger
(2016).
In
her younger days, Ginny was actually a porn star, but after being
passed up for someone younger, she didn't take rejection too well
even then. On the outside to the public, she appears to be a sweet
Southern old lady, but on the inside her house and mind is full of
bloody revenge. As she picks up stray girls, runaways she thinks of
how they are everything she is not. She enjoys their suffering as
she eat them alive as well as sharing her 'mystery meat' dishes with
her neighbors. The only thing she doesn't know is her neighbor
voyeur across the street has loved her since she was a young model
and if he told her her ...maybe she wouldn't have become a cannibal.
This
was a straight up horror film. You know the horror, you know who it
is, you know how it is done, and you know it's coming. Each 'victim
character' gets an inner monolog from the main character, and beneath
the smile and quiet appearance you know it will leave you screaming
in horror for the blood and guts. Its brutal and not for everyone.
The
widescreen anamorphically enhanced aspect ratio of 1.78 X 1 and a
lossy Dolby Digital sound are not great at all and make this already
rough work hard to watch. Extras are very loaded however, and
include a feature-length audio commentary track, deleted scenes,
music video, interview, Babette
Bombshell Short,
Easter Egg and trailer.
