The
Meddler (2015) is a charming new coming of age romantic comedy
from filmmaker Loren Scafaria (Seeking a Friend for the End of the
World) that stars Susan Sarandon and Rose Byrne - who are fantastic
as an onscreen Mother and Father. The film also stars Jason Ritter
and J.K. Simmons.
A
year after the death of her husband, Marnie (Sarandon) moves near The
Grove in Los Angeles to be close to her Screenwriter Daughter Lori
(Byrne). Rich with the money that her husband left her and finding
herself with too much time on her hands, Marnie begins to meddle in
her daughter's business a bit too much by constantly contacting her
and interfering with her love life, even though she means well and is
in many ways still finding herself. When Lori ends up going out of
town to work on a film, Marnie is left to her own devices and decides
to help one use her fortune to help others. Marnie soon meets an ex
cop named Zipper (Simmons), who changes her life and rekindled her
faith in love.
Presented
in high definition with an anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio of
2.39:1 and a lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 track the film look and sounds
great for DVD, but (as usual) would obviously be benefited by high
definition.

A
good chick film, The Meddler is one to watch if you're in a
romantic mood.
