Sundown
(2016/Lionsgate DVD)

Logan
(Devon Werkheiser) and Blake (Sean Marquette) are off to Puerto
Vallarta Mexico for spring break. Blake wants to film some 'booty'
for his website and Logan is off chasing the girl of his dreams, but
instead, meets a mysterious girl Gaby and wakes up drunk with his
father Rolex watch missing and now is somehow mixed up with the
Russian Mafia.
In
Fernando Lebrija's Sundown (2016), all Logan wants is to be is
a DJ and get the girl. He ends up in Mexico with his best friend
Blake, who is the worst best friend, whose advice more often gets you
into more trouble. Instead of hooking up with the girl he followed
to Mexico, he meets Gaby (Camilla Belle), the beautiful thief and he
loses his father's watch to the Russian Mob. But with a little help
her and from their Mexican with mad taxi driving skills (and has more
connections than a computer), they must get $5,000 in 24 hours to buy
back his father's watch and to get home alive.
This
was an amusing comical movie, at first I thought it was going to be
another drunk American college movie, but it turned into an
adventure. Two boys who went to go have fun, but find themselves in
more trouble than they realize, but in the end they learn in order to
save themselves they will have to break all the rules and maybe even
grow up a little afterwards. Teri Hatcher and Sarah Paxton also
star.
The
anamorphically enhanced picture looks great, but the lossy Dolby
Digital 5.1 sound sounds and plays even better. Extras include
deleted scenes, behind the scenes and trailers.
