Clown

Many
people have a fear of Clowns, to me it never quite made sense as I
see them as more innocent and loving then scary. No doubt inspired
from films such as Stephen King's IT
and Killer
Klowns from Outer Space,
clown phobia in cinema continues with the new Eli Roth produced and
Jon Watts directed 2014 film Clown.
The film stars Laura Allen, Andy Powers, and veteran Cohen Brothers
actor Peter Stormare and is written by Christopher Ford and John
Powers.
Combining
elements from an R.L. Stine Goosebumps story entitled The
Haunted Mask,
a tale where a young girl puts on a halloween mask that she can't
take off here we have a similar storyline with a Father named Kent
(Powers), who is trying to save his son's birthday party by putting
on a dusty old clown suit, but soon realizes that he can't take the
costume off. Realizing soon that the 'suit' is actually a demon that
has possessed him, he starts on a killing rampage where even his
loved ones aren't safe.
Presented
in 1080p high definition with a widescreen aspect ratio of 2.40:1 and
a great sounding lossless DTS-HD MA (Master Audio) 5.1 track, the
presentation here is top notch, even when the film is not. Also
included is a digital copy of the film in compressed quality.
The
only extra is Making
Clown
which features producer Eli Roth.
Playing
on clown phobias and some familiar plot lines, Clown
is simply your run-of-the-mill slasher film and by no means a
classic.
