Tim
Roth stars in the 2016 gritty drama 600 Miles, the directorial
debut from Gabriel Ripstein. Primarily about weapons running and set
across a Mexican landscape, the film is slow and mainly a
character-driven piece. Roth delivers a powerful performance as
usual but the lackluster ending weakens what could have been a strong
film.
600
Miles also stars Kristyan Ferrer, Monica Del Carmen, and Greg
Lutz to name a few.
Hank
Harris (Roth), is a U.S. agent who is out to bust an international
arms-smuggling racket and make a good name for himself. Outsmarted
and overpowered by a young Mexican gunrunner (Ferrer), Harris decides
to smuggle Hank into Mexico and deliver him to his crime bosses.
Over the course of the journey they befriend each other amidst the
backdrop of a country overrun by a deadly cartel. Now they must work
together to get out alive.
Presented
in standard definition with an anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio of
1.78:1 and a superb, English, lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 track that is
standard for the dated format, it plays as well as it can in this
format. A digital UV copy of the film is also included which is in a
even more compressed format.
No
extras.
