Pretty
Little Liars
returns for an interesting Sixth
Season
with twenty episodes and exclusive to this release, a recap of the
previous five seasons (see elsewhere on this site) that premiered on
ABC before the start of this episode set. Though not aimed at my
personal demographic, the show continues to appeal to its fan based
and is well made with its gorgeous young cast.
The
show stars Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, Tyler Blackburn, Lucy
Hale, Ian Harding, Laura Leighton, Shay Mitchell, Janel Parrish and
Sasha Pieterse.
Set
in fictitious Rosewood, Pennsylvania, this teen drama follows the
lives of four close friends who are bonded together by secrets and
lies, and the mysterious death of their former clique leader. A year
after Allison's death, the girls began receiving threatening text
messages from an anonymous source signing as ''A''.
The
figure stalks the girls gathering details to later blackmail them by
threatening to kill and or expose their secrets. Seeking to reveal
''A'', keep their secrets buried and go back to their normal lives,
Spencer, Emily, Aria, and Hanna go on the hunt finding clues that
will lead to the truth behind Allison's disappearance.
Presented
in standard definition with a widescreen aspect ratio of 1.78:1 and a
lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 track, the show looks fine for DVD, but would
obviously look a lot more detailed on Blu-ray which is also available
for those with that capacity.
We
also get four all new featurettes including We
Hear the PLL Ship, A PLL Prom, Inside the Five Years, A Homecoming:
The PLL's Return
and Deleted Scenes.
If
you're a fan of the series, then you likely will enjoy all that this
season has in store.
