Welcome
back to the world of UTAWARERUMONO, full of mystery, magic, epic
battles and animal eared people. However, the OVAs 3 have nothing to
do with the main story, just three side stories of our main
characters, but this disc is still being issued as Utawarerumono
OVA: Complete Collection
(2009 - 2010).
Utawarerumono
is the tale of Hakuoro, a mysterious masked figure who became the
Emperor of world, he united the various warring tribes and brought
peace to Utawarerumono. With his wisdom and knowledge, he defeated
the warlords and tyrants and while protecting the weak and the
innocent, he discovers that he was the last human on Earth and that
humans had destroyed themselves long ago. Now, they had been
replaced by animal eared people and regressed to a medieval
society.
Utawarerumono
is a great anime series, the OVAs are more like extra episodes for
Utawarerumono fans. Unfortunately, you need to watch the series in
order to get a better understanding and appreciate of the OVAs,
otherwise you would think it is common anime.
The
1080p 1.78 X 1 digital High Definition image transfers are pretty
good through, though Sentai's high transfer standards mean they may
play well, but not up to their top of the line, and to think 4K Ultra
HD 2160p Blu-ray is here! The
DTS-HD MA (Master Audio) 2.0 Stereo lossless mixes are presented in
decent English and slightly better Japanese versions, both offering
some Pro Logic-like surrounds to match the image quality. The
combination is just fine. Extras
include picture dramas, clean opening and closing animation and
trailers.
