Usually it is a bad thing when the spirits gets summoned, they either want to haunt you or possess you, specially Kokkuri a powerful Fox spirit. Unfortunately, he get Kohina a doll-like girl, who lives off of instant noodles and lives in a broken temple. Unable to possess her or even scare her, he decides to be her guardian and set her straight in Gugure! Kokkuri-san: Complete Collection (2014 aka Season One).

In an age of modern technology and internet, there is hardly any room left for the spirits. So when Kokkuri gets summoned by Kohina, he'll take what he can get. Unfortunately, he's not the only one after Kohina. Soon, Kokkuri and Kohina are joined by Inugami, a dog spirit and Shigaraki, a perverted raccoon priest spirit. As Kohina's guardians, they protect and fight over who gets to possess her in the end.

This was a comical anime series that makes fun of Japan's folklore animal spirits and anime otaku. The comedy here comes from how these spirits live with a very odd girl and somehow co-exist in the modern world.

The 1080p 1.78 X 1 digital High Definition image transfers are great and up to Sentai's highest transfer standards for the format near the top, though with 4K Ultra HD 2160p Blu-ray now on the marketplace, will the 4-times higher definition plus HDR that improve the image even further revealing even more color range, detail and definition or show weaknesses we cannot see? We look forward to seeing what that will be like when Sentai makes the jump into the new format. The DTS-HD MA (Master Audio) 2.0 Japanese Stereo lossless mix offers some Pro Logic-like surrounds and is consistently good across each episode, but it will take a 5.1 or 7.1 track to really match the amazing image quality here. Extras include clean opening and closing animations, shorts and trailers.
