Rodriguez returns with Season 2 of the new hit From Dusk
'Till Dawn series that airs on his El Rey network. Being a fan,
but not having the channel, I'm very pleased with the quick release
of the show on disc with a very excellent transfer (which we will get
into later).
Re-making
(sort of) the original Tarantino/Rodriguez film in the first season
with a fresh cast, Season Two expands further with heart
stopping action, great special effects, and a cast that is fun to
watch. I highly recommend this series if you are a fan of the
original film as it keeps the spirit alive and is produced very
nicely. You can tell that Rodriguez definitely was about to tell the
story he wanted to here and is really off the chain. Similar in some
ways to True Blood, this show will please fans of both action
and vampire horror.
The
series stars D.J. Cotrona, Zane Holtz, Eiza Gonzalez, Jesse Garcia,
Danny Trejo, Madison Davenport and others among a solid cast!
Episodes include Opening Night, In A Dark Time, Attack of the 50
Ft. Sex Machine, The Best Little Horror House in Texas, Bizarre
Tales, Bring Me The Head of Santanico Pandemonium, The Last
Temptation of Richard Gecko, There Will Be Blood, and
Santa Sangre.
In
this supernatural crime series, Seth Gecko and his violent,
unpredictable brother, Richard "Richie" Gecko, are wanted
by the FBI and Texas Ranger Freddie Gonzalez after a bank robbery
left several people, including policemen and Gonzalez's mentor Texas
Ranger Earl McGraw, dead. Heading for the Mexico border pursued by
Gonzalez, the Geckos encounter former minister Jacob Fuller and his
family, whom they take hostage by commandeering the Fullers' RV.
Drug lord Don Carlos reroutes them to a strip club populated by Snake
like people that all must fight for food to survive until dawn.
Presented
in 1080p high definition with a widescreen aspect ratio of 1.78:1 and
a crystal clear, lossless DTS-HD MA (Master Audio) 5.1 track, the
show looks better on disc than it does on television! E One has done
a terrific job with the presentation here, as was the case with the
first season.
