Indemnity: Rage of a Jealous Vampire (2012/WWMM Entertainment DVD)

Similar to other Vampire films like Count Yorga (reviewed elsewhere on this site), director David Dietz's ultra low budget horror film Indemnity: Rage of a Jealous Vampire is an interestingly shot, yet quite short (60 minutes) attempt at the genre. Not particularly gory and with hit or miss acting, this indie film is worth a look if you are a vampire film watcher or a fan of low budget films.

A man on the run from his ex-lover, who has sworn to kill him, takes refuge in a rural bar, where he finds an unlikely ally in the local bartender. As the man (Dietz) opens up to the bartender over many rounds, the bartender - who is battling demons of his own - begins to wonder if the man is merely a victim of circumstance... or if he's hiding a much darker secret.

Simply put, the 1.78 X 1 transfer on the film is unfortunately horrid, with grainy noise and dark colors and a letterboxed presentation, which is a shame because the film is shot interestingly with color emphases and a new transfer would yield better results. A lossy Dolby Digital 2.0 track backs this up with stereo sound, but could also benefit from an upgrade that would also bring out better results.

Extras are the real highlight here including Deleted Scenes, Behind The Scenes, Slideshow, a trailer, and Shade's Last Run (a 20 minute black and white short).

As noted above, you can catch the film via Amazon at this link...
