The
20
Holiday Adventures
is a great assortment of holiday adventure stories for kids and
families who enjoy watching some holiday stories to pass the time
while their children are out of school on winter break or what have
you.
Each
story brings a classic storybook tale to life. The entire list of
Holiday Adventures include: The
Night Before Christmas, Max's Christmas, Merry Christmas, Splat,
Morris' Disappearing Bag, Merry Christmas, Space Case, Bear Snores
On, Noah's Ark, Too Many Tamales, Lemonade in Winter, The Snowy Day,
Fletcher and the Snowflake Christmas, In the Month of Kislev, Little
Drummer Boy, Seven Candles for Kwanzaa, Great Joy!, Antarctic Antics,
Giving Thanks, Bear Has a Story to Tell, The Clown of God, and Brave
Irene.
The
different episodes on the 20
Holiday Adventures
have some nice cheerful moments. There are also some that teach you
what the time of year is truly all about.
It
is presented on standard definition DVD in a full screen 1.33 X 1
format.
The
20
Fairy Tales
is another one of Scholastic's storybook treasures entries. It is
similar to the 20
Holiday Adventures,
but minus the holidays. The DVD has some classic fairy tale critters
and some more loveable characters you and your family may have seen
before over the years.
This
classic collection has 20
Fairy Tales
and the episodes include:
James
Marshall's Cinderella, Doctor De Soto, Each Peach Pear Plum, Extra
Yarn, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Hansel and Gretel, Harold's
Fairy Tale, Lon Po Po: A Red Riding Hood Story from China, Princess
Furball, Rapunzel, Red Riding Hood, Three Billy Goats Gruff, The Boy
Who Cried Wolf, The Elves and the Shoemaker, The Little Match Girl,
The Red Shoes, The Three Little Pigs, The True Story of The Three
Little Pigs, The Ugly Duckling and The Emperor's New Clothes.
Both
the Holiday
Adventures
and the Fairy
Tales
are presented on standard definition 1.33 X 1 and have an age
recommendation of 3-8 years old. There is about an hour more content
on the Fairy
Tales
DVD. The episodes were released over a few years and compiled
together so the lossy Dolby Digital 2.0 audio and video quality vary,
but it is still decent and worthy of yours and your child's
attention.
