Two
kid follow their divorced father to their Aunt Cly's farm for
Thanksgiving, only to learn of a mysterious legendary monster in the
enchanted woods, the Howling Hoodoo. As they search for the legend
they must save the farm from crooked turkey farmer who wants to steal
their farm. With a little help from family, friends and a bit of
magic, can two kids save Thanksgiving and the farm?
In
Jim Henson's Turkey Hollow (2015), the pair find out they are
going to their wayward Aunt Cly's farm after their father's divorce.
Only to find out everything is vegan, organic, no TV and no internet
(yes no wi-fi ...the horror, the horror). That is until they find
out about the Howling Hoodoo has a ten thousand dollar prize for
capturing a picture of it. Turns out the creature are musical
muppets and they love eating rocks, but when the farm gets threatened
by a crooked turkey farmer and his henchmen it will take the family
(and their new friends) to come together to save the farm.
The
late Jim Henson's company does it again. This was a family friendly
and fun movie with cute monsters. It was like a mix of Sesame
Street with Scooby-Doo, those darn kids solving the
mystery, stopping the the bad guys and saving the day. It's a mix of
good feelings, holiday sharing and bring the family together. Even
the anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 image and lossy Dolby Digital
sound are really good for DVD, leaving the mystery, why no Blu-ray?
