Mutto
dreams of going to the moon following the foot steps of his little
brother Hibitom but ever ever since their mentor, Sharon diagnosed
she had ALS, he begins to worry and lose concentration on the
training program. As Mutto continues his training, he is tested and
challenged, but will he make the Astronaut program or will he fail
and live forever in the shadow of his little brother?
In
Space Brothers: Collection 6 (2014), Mutto had always lived in
the shadow of his little brother, Hibito. Hibito was the first
Japanese to set foot on the moon and has became the hero of the
nation. As Mutto follows in his little brother's foot steps he
realizes his path will be become a very different one from his little
brother. Now that Muto is in the NASA Astronaut training program, he
has the lowest scoring among all the astronaut trainees, but there is
one thing he will not lose in, he will not lose to anyone in spirit
of an astronaut.
This series remains semi-realistic about the
astronaut program as it explores not only it's excitement but some of
the challenges and dangers astronauts face. It is set somewhat in
the near future with the idea that one day mankind will begin setting
up a moonbase. In this season, it focuses more on the training
programs than actual space travels.
