The
Horror Network (2014/Wild Eye DVD)

An
anthology of five horror shorts, The Horror Network, is a low
budget collection from new filmmakers in the genre. I was a little
disappointed that there wasn't a linking story to span across the
whole thing to fill in the gaps, it's more of a collection of shorts
back to back with title cards.
Serial
killers, ghostly phone calls, inner demons, otherworld monsters, and
creepy stalkers collide in this frightening anthology. Five of
horror's most promising new directing talents join forces to pay
homage to classics like Creepshow, Tales from the Crypt, V/H/S,
and ABCs of Death and weave an unforgettable, disturbing
tapestry of terror.
Shorts
on the disc include Edward, The Quiet, Merry Little
Christmas (in Spanish), and The Deviant One, which is an
experimental film that reigns over the others.
Presented
in standard definition with a widescreen aspect ratio of 2.35:1 and
1.85:1 (depending on the short) and a lossy Dolby 5.1 track, the
overall quality is not too bad. Extras include Extended Cut: The
Deviant One and trailers for other Wild Eye releases.
