Adam
Egypt Mortimer's Some Kind of Hate (2015) is a revenge
thriller with a zombie twist. After being bullied, Lincoln's life
has hit rock bottom. Soon, he is sent to a remote school for
troubled teens and all of his problems start up again. He soon meets
a teenager named Moira who was driven to suicide by way of bullying
years ago. Summoning her from the grave, Moria teams up with Lincoln
on a revenge plan that ends in bloodbath.
While
not shot terribly but with some interested acting and weird plot
twists, the film is a hateful look at some messed up individuals that
almost rivals a Rob Zombie plotline. This one time watch is not for
the faint at heart and will either entertain or annoy reminding me of
Eli Roth fair. However, there is plenty of gore to satisfy gore
hounds. It strives to be an exploitation film but ends up being more
of an endurance test to see if you can finish it.
Presented
in standard definition with an anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio of
2.40:1 and a lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 track, the film looks and sounds
great on DVD but could benefit to a Blu-ray upgrade.
Extras
include Deleted Scenes, Filmmaker Commentary, and a Cast Commentary.
