Dolph
Lundgren, Johnny Messner, Vivica A. Fox, and Danny Trejo star in
Timothy Woodward Jr.'s 4GOT10 (2015), a nicely shot and at
times, brutal action film set in the modern West Coast that involves
stolen money, a high body count, and plenty of violence. I have to
admit that the film isn't quite as bad as I was expecting from the
title, but is still a second rate action thriller.
A
wounded man (Messner) wakes up in the desert surrounded by dead
bodies with no memory and roughly three million in stolen cash.
First to the crime scene is a Sheriff and his Deputy who plan to take
the money only to be gunned down. Now Messner is on the run from a
DEA Agent (Lundgren) and a fast talking Cop (Fox) who will stop at
nothing to bring him down. There's also a fun performance from
Machete himself, Danny Trejo who plays a drug lord who is out
to take back what it is his.
Some
things stylistically in the film don't really work such as a Guy
Ritchie style name card that comes up when each new character is
introduced and some of the dialogue which is pretty cheesy. The film
doesn't try to be anything more than what it is - which is cheesy low
budget action film not entirely grounded in reality.
The
film looks great on Blu-ray disc with a sharp 1080p high definition
transfer and a lossless, powerful DTS-HD MA (Master Audio) 5.1 track
that sounds incredible. Extras include Behind The Scenes and Deleted
Scenes.
You
can do a lot worse than this film but it didn't blow me away enough
to recommend.
