Reign
had a pretty good first season. So, when the second season was about
to begin there was a certain bar it set for itself. The beginning of
Season 2 starts out very well. It has some big obstacles,
such as, the plague that crept inside the castle walls, which took
many lives all over the kingdom and basically makes the nation unable
to maintain any stability. As we know, Mary (Adelaide Kane) wants to
be a different kind of queen, but in Season 2 we can see how
she struggles with this decision as she desperately tries to make her
husband, Francis (Toby Regbo) proud.
There
are some historical inaccuracies in the second season of Reign,
but you cannot expect everything to be exactly right. In spite of
that, the show continues to be entertaining and has the right amount
of chaos, tension, romance, and more. As we have gone over before,
CW puts out some very good shows, Arrow, The Flash,
iZombie, and more, therefore, with that in mind we know there
will be some hot and heavy teen ''romance'' scenes. However, all
those relationships work and do not take away much from the actual
stories.
There
are 22 episodes on this 5-disc set. The episodes include: The
Plague, Drawn and Quartered, Coronation, The Lamb and the Slaughter,
Blood for Blood, Three Queens, Prince of the Blood, Terror of the
Faithful, Acts of War, Mercy, Getaway, Banished, Sins of the Past,
The End of Mourning, Forbidden, Tasting Revenge, Tempting Fate,
Reversal of Fortune, Abandoned, Fugitive, The Siege, and Burn.
The
Complete Second Season is presented in a ''matted'' widescreen
1.77:1 format to preserve the aspect ratio of its original television
exhibition. This still has a good picture if you have never seen in
it high definition. The audio is in English Dolby Digital 5.1, which
comes through crisp and clear. The special features in the second
season are an All-New Featurette: Playing by Her Rules: A Day on
Set with a Queen and Her Court and some Deleted Scenes.
