The
100: The Complete Second Season (2014 - 2015) still keeps
us wanting more. It quietly builds from the strengths of Season
One, even though we don't see much more than overgrown forest,
and in this season a lot of desert, it can visually interesting. It
makes me believe they are set up in a post apocalyptic world where
things, people, and even animals have changed and they need to now
figure out not just how to rebuild civilization, but how to survive.
Season
Two picks up right where season one left off, which can be a good
idea for a show to do, because it can milk its popularity out a
little longer. Clarke (Eliza Taylor) is trapped inside the
mysterious vault with some of the remaining 100 kids that were sent
to Earth from the arc station. You go in thinking that the season as
a whole will be about the vault on Mount Weather, but this is where
it is both good and fun to watch and also its downfall. There are so
many stories that take place in this season of The 100, that
you can feel like they are rushing the shows progression for some
reason. If they would focus on the main storyline and some side
stories here and there they could keep the series running longer, but
as it is being told now I am not sure how much more they can throw at
us.
One
of the cool things about The 100 is how the people from the
arc, which if you have been watching was in outer space and now on
Earth, is that it felt sort of like the beginning of the Fallout game
series, in which they were told nothing could survive on Earth and
they were the last of the human race. However, as we learned from
season one with the grounders that is not true. We continue to learn
in season two with that there are even more groups of survivors, the
people from Mount Weather, The City of Light, and more. Of course it
really is not as gritty as the game as we would like, but it has some
very good moments and of course is on The CW so there is the romantic
element you can expect. For the most part, the show is worth
watching if you want a post nuclear apocalyptic world because you are
tired of zombies and/or aliens.
The
complete second season of The 100 comes on a 4-disc set, which
includes 16 episodes. Those episodes are "The 48",
"Inclement Weather", "Reapercussions", "Many
Happy Returns", "Human Trials ", "Fog of War",
"Long Into an Abyss", "Spacewalker", "
Remember Me", "Survival of the Fittest", "Coup de
GrĂ¢ce", "Rubicon", "Resurrection",
"Bodyguard of Lies", "Blood Must Have Blood: Part 1",
and "Blood Must Have Blood: Part 2".
It
is on a standard definition DVD presented in a "matted"
widescreen format preserving the aspect ratio of its original
television exhibition and enhanced for widescreen televisions. The
audio comes through crisp and clear with its English, lossy Dolby
Digital 5.1 sound. Special features for the complete second season
