Outlander:

This
second half of Starz's hit new series, Outlander,
explodes onto Blu-ray with another exceptionally packaged Blu-ray
package release. If you haven't seen the show yet, it's a bit more
romantic than Game
Of Thrones
and features a cool time-traveling story line. As mentioned above,
this is volume two of the first season so be sure to catch the first
part before tackling these or you may be lost (elsewhere on this
site).
Outlander
follows the story of Claire Randall, a married combat nurse from 1945
who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743, where she is
immediately thrown into an unknown world where her life is
threatened. When she is forced to marry Jamie, a chivalrous and
romantic young Scottish warrior, a passionate affair is ignited that
tears Claire's heart between two vastly different men in two
irreconcilable lives.
The
British-American drama is based on a series of novels (all the best
ones are!) by Diana Gabaldon. The costumes and production design are
top notch and this show is full of cool characters and action that I
would definitely check out if you are a fan of fantasy films like The
Hobbit
or even the recent time bender Age
of Adeline (also
reviewed elsewhere on this site).
Presented
in 1080p high definition with a widescreen aspect ratio of 1.78:1 and
a powerful, lossless DTS-HD MA (Master Audio) 5.1 track, the
presentation here is top notch.
Extras
include...
Collectible
3D artwork with the packaging that's very cool along with a
Digibook-type case that looks the way a Blu-ray set like this should
look. (Thank you, Starz!)
