Modern
Family: The Complete Sixth Season still keeps us laughing.
They manage to do what some shows fail to do, which is keep their
audience coming back for more. The show has been able to
consistently do the confessional interviews throughout the series,
but it has gotten to the point where you do not even notice them
anymore. The earlier seasons of Modern Family, including this
one, makes it feel as if it is some sort of necessity, but the later
seasons could do without. Each confessional does not stand out as
much, because they rely heavily on the one-liners that feel way too
similar to jokes they used before, sometimes they even are the same
joke.
Another
thing is the cast as they get older and grow as a character and as a
person, for example, They still make it like Gloria (Sofia Vergara)
does not understand the English language as well. We can sometimes
let this slide, due to the fact that without this element we would
not have those comedic moments, but she has lived here long enough to
understand the strings they are pulling at. The biggest
disappointment as the show progresses is Manny (Rico Rodriguez),
because when he was a little sophisticated and snooty child it was
hilarious. However, now that he has grown up it can get kind of
annoying and you can see the writers struggling to find this kids
place in the family.
The
show overall is still funny and worth a watch. Although, there is
not much new, and nothing too adventurous, Modern Family still
has won five Emmy's for outstanding comedy series and you can see
why. Now, some can chalk it up to either not many shows being
considered or just not much to compete with, but it is ultimately a
quality show nevertheless.
