Fans
of Supernatural will rejoice now that the show's tenth season
is available on DVD from Warner Brothers entertainment. Starring
Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki as Dean and Sam Winchester, the
show follows the exploits of two brothers as they follow their
father's footsteps, hunting down evil supernatural creatures such as
monsters, demons, and even fallen gods while trying to save innocent
people along the way. The show gets better as it goes along,
introducing more interesting special effects and cool creatures
despite its cast of pretty faces.
Season
10 picks up after Dean Winchester lost his battle with power-mad
angel scribe Metatron last season and was resurrected by the power of
the First Blade and transformed into a demon, cursed with the Mark of
Cain. The road to recovering wayward Dean takes brother Sam down
sinister paths himself, with consequences that will shake the boys to
their core. The Winchesters' angelic comrade-in-arms Castiel must
pick up the pieces in the aftermath of Metatron's campaign to
overtake Heaven. With his divine 'grace' failing and rogue angels
still loose, Cass faces the ticking clock of his own mortality while
all-new and ages-old threats again push our heroes to their human and
otherworldly limits. At the same time, the King of Hell, Crowley,
must deal with dissension within his own twisted family.
Season
10 features 23 episodes including Black, Reichenbach, Soul
Survivor, Paper Moon, Fan Fiction, Ask Jeeves, Girls Girls Girls,
Hibbing 911, The Things We Left Behind, Hunter Games, There's No
Place Like Home, About a Boy, Halt and Catch Fire, The Executioner's
Song, The Things They Carried, Paint It Black, Inside Man, Book of
the Damned, The Werther Project, Angel Heart, Dark Dynasty, The
Prisoner, and Brother's Keeper.
Presented
in standard definition with a widescreen anamorphic aspect ratio of
1.78:1 and a lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 track, the show looks fine on
disc and is comparable with its original broadcast version. There is
also a Blu-ray edition available that exceeds the quality here also
available from Warner.

While
in this reviewer's opinion, not quite as entertaining as the new
series Constantine, Supernatural continues to impress
as its fan base grows over the years. If you're a fan of the series
then you won't want to miss this highly collectible set.
