The
Curse Of Downers Grove (2014/Anchor Bay Blu-ray)

From
the writer of American Psycho, Brett Easton Ellis, comes The
Curse of Downers Grove. Critically panned and for good reason,
the film borderlines on teenage soap opera and a script that is
surprisingly underdeveloped. Starting out with an interesting
premise based around a curse and inspired by a true story, the film
ends up being a by the numbers teenage horror film with a lot of
voice over narration and a predictable final act.
The
film stars Bella Heathcoate, Helen Slater, Kevin Zegers, Lucas Till,
Penelope Mitchell, and Tom Arnold.
In
suburban Downers Grove, Illinois, people call it The Curse. Before
the end of every school year, one high school senior will die in a
gruesome accident. And with only one week left, Chrissie Swanson
can't shake the fear that she might be next. Can Chrissie survive
the curse of Downers Grove or will she, like those seniors before
her, fall prey to the town's deadly secret?
Presented
in high definition with a widescreen aspect ratio of 2.40:1, the film
looks fantastic on Blu-ray disc coupled with a powerful, lossless
Dolby TrueHD 5.1 track that is crystal clear and impressive. The
only bonus feature is a Behind The Scenes of Downers Grove
featurette.
