Hong
Kong a utopia for business and mass marketing, but also for
corruption, greed and money laundering. Chief Luk and his men work
for the anti-corruption task force, but when the source of the
corruption leads back to their own and their own government and
leaders will they be able to take them down? Those in power will do
anything to stop them from discovering the truth.
In
Davin Lam's Z Storm (2014), Chief Luk leads the ICAC
(Independent Commission Against Corruption), a task force created to
seek out corruption within the government and economy. However, the
mysterious Z Hedge Fund is about to go through in 5 days, worth
billions of dollars worth of investments for the Hong Kong economy.
Through bribery, blackmail and assassinations, officials and even
cops are used to make sure deal to go through. It seems like who
ever is behind Z Hedge, to them, million dollar bribes are pocket
change and have already bought the upper echelons of the government
and the police force.
How far is one willing to go for
justice? Are you willing to fight those who might be your own boss?
In the future it is not about guns, drugs, even resources, it is
about control of money and information and power. Companies,
government and people can be bought and the only ones who can stop
them are the ICAC.
The
1080p 2.35 X 1 digital High Definition widescreen image is a digital
shoot with solid, consistent results, though it has minor detail
issues, while the lossless, Cantonese DTS-HD MA (Master Audio) 5.1
mix has a consistent soundfield, but can be more dialogue-based at
times than you might expect. Extras
include interviews, making of the movie and trailers.
