Chunibyo
- A person with delusions of fantasy and grandeur, often mimicking
characters, heroes/heroines and acting them out in real life. Yuta
was a chunibyo, but now he is 2nd year in high school. Now he is
living with Rikka, Rikka is a hardcore Chunibyo and drags him into
her fantasy life. Will Yuta be able to keep in check his old
Chunibyo ways? As they continue their high school days they meet
other Chunibyos who add to their daily imaginary adventures in Love,
Chunibyo & Other Delusions! HeartThrob: Season 2,
the 2013 follow-up to the original show.
Yuta, (a.k.a Dark Flame
Master) find his past embarrassing and has tried (and failed) to
leave his past delusions behind. He is dragged back into the
Chunibyo world by Rikka, (a.k.a Wicked Lord Shingan *and his girl
friend now) who's prefers living an imaginary fantasy world of
magical girls fighting the 'norms'. Together they started a 'magic
club' which they are joined Dekomori who consider Rikka her 'master',
Nibutani the most popular girl in school (a.k.a. Mori Summer) also a
former Chunibyo. And finally, Tsuyuri a carefree upperclassman who
joined to fall asleep whenever she wants. As the new semester starts
a new girl/rival Sophia appears adds to their Chunibyo society. More
delusions, more girls what could be wrong with that?
This was a comical
series, while there is no actual magical girl(s) more often the
characters go into fantasy mode, role playing themselves fighting the
forces of evil (conformity or normality) or each other. The
characters grow and eventually become friends with each other, but
the main character discovers they prefer to live in fantasy worlds
(because having fantasies is much more fun than reality).
The anamorphically
enhanced 1.78 X 1 image and lossy Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo look as
good as they could for the DVD format, but one wishes it were a
Blu-ray. Extras include Chuni-shorts, Japanese Promos, clean opening
and closing, and trailers.

Rikka get jealous.

'Morisummer'.

The group head towards the beach, but as Rikka gets closer to Yuta
she wonders if she is losing her Chunibyo powers, is she preferring
real love to fantasy love?

Sophia realizes she still has feelings for Yuta.
